Having first come to prominence in 1999 when he was signed to LTJ Bukem’s Good Looking label, Makoto has steadily, consistently carved out his own groove in the world of Drum and Bass, with his trademark expansive jazz and soul-inflected workouts garnering critical praise from all corners. Having worked with a veritable who’s who of the scene, with releases on Zinc’s Bingo Beats, Fabio’s Creative Source and numerous collaborations with DJ Marky for his Innerground and A-Sides for their collaboration album entitled “Aquarian Dreams” on the joint label Eastern Elements.
Together with these releases, the full-length album for his own print Human Elements titled ‘Souled Out’ featured many talented vocalists and session musicians, and is a culmination of the breadth of experience and talent Makoto brings to each track which credits his name.
2017 sees the next chapter for Makoto, signing exclusive to Hospital Records he kicks off the year with a brand new track ‘Speed Of Life’ on their celebratory ‘We Are 21’ compilation and now presenting his fifth solo album ‘Salvation’. A perfect fit bringing that trademark sound across 14 tracks.
